Paula Wellons is a New Orleans–based attorney whose practice focuses on insurance coverage and general casualty defense. Recognized as an AV® rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, she brings extensive experience handling complex litigation across a wide range of industries.
Her practice includes insurance coverage disputes involving various policy forms, as well as environmental, transportation, premises liability, construction, maritime, and professional liability matters. Paula regularly represents clients in both state and federal courts, including multi-district litigation, and has significant trial experience.
She works closely with insurers, self-insured entities, and corporate clients to develop and implement effective risk management strategies tailored to their needs.
Paula is admitted to practice before all Louisiana state and federal courts, as well as the United States Courts of Appeals for the Third and Ninth Circuits and the United States Supreme Court.
An active leader in the legal community, Paula serves on the Board of Directors of the New Orleans Bar Association and is co-chair of its Torts and Products Liability Committee. She is also a member of several professional organizations, including the Defense Research Institute and the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. In addition, she serves as an examiner for the Louisiana State Bar Association.
Paula is a frequent lecturer on legislative tort reform, trial strategy, and mediation, and regularly presents seminars to law schools, attorneys, insurers, and self-insured organizations.
