Richard Ray is originally from Alexandria, but has been in Baton Rouge for over 20 years. He received an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Louisiana College and a Master's of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern. Before going to law school, Richard worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons in the Psychology Department of the Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. While with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Richard was a member of Hostage Negotiations Team and provided training for Federal Bureau of Investigations agents and Federal Bureau of Prisons personnel in the areas of offender aggression and the Psychopathic Personality. In 1998, Richard began law school at LSU's Paul M. Hebert Law Center during which he clerked for the United States Attorney for the Middle District of Louisiana. He obtained his Juris Doctorate in 2002 receiving CALI awards in Contracts and Products Liability. After passing the Louisiana bar in 2003, Richard worked as an Assistant Attorney General and then as a trial attorney for a national insurance carrier. He has tried numerous cases throughout the State obtaining significant defense verdicts. He has also successfully argued cases before various Courts of Appeal. Richard is admitted to practice before all Louisiana State and Federal Courts. At TWPD, Richard is a litigation attorney ardently representing clients in matters involving insurance coverage and liability, premise liability, general liability. When not working, Richard enjoys fishing, LSU football, and spending time with his three children.
