Native New Orleanian Paula Wellons is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and Loyola University School of Law. Her practice is concentrated in the areas of insurance coverage, toxic tort, transportation, premise liability, maritime law and professional liability. As an active member of the New Orleans Pro Bono Project and the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce, she is regularly involved in community projects. She practices throughout the state and has extensive trial experience in most courts in Louisiana. She also works closely with many self-insured companies in accomplishing and maintaining their risk management objectives. Paula is admitted to practice before all of the State and Federal Courts in the State of Louisiana. She has also been admitted to, and has handled select matters in the United States Courts of Appeal for the Third and Ninth Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court. She is a member of the American, United States Fifth Circuit, Louisiana State and New Orleans Bar Associations. She is a member of the Defense Research Institute and the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. Paula also serves as an examiner for the Louisiana State Bar and lectures on various topics to law schools, other lawyers, insurance companies and self-insured companies.
