Steve Perkins graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University in 1987. He studied EU and international law at the Rijksuniversiteit Leiden (Netherlands), and graduated with honors from the University of Florida College of Law in 1990. He is admitted to practice in Florida, Louisiana, and Virginia; in the U.S. Appeals Courts for the First, Third, Fourth, Fifth, and D.C. Circuits; and before the United States Supreme Court.

A broad range of corporate legal experience, including nearly a decade as general counsel of an east coast regional telecommunications company, allows Steve to help business clients solve problems effectively. He counsels companies in every facet of start-up and incorporation, domestic and international market issues, protection and licensing of intellectual property, non-competes and human resources matters, vendor and customer contracts, and land use and property concerns. Steve provides clients with strategic guidance to navigate complex administrative, regulatory, and legislative processes.

Steve has defended corporate interests against claims for antitrust, securities fraud, employment discrimination, ERISA, and a wide variety of state and federal regulatory violations. Steve has also assisted business clients in recovering losses due to intellectual property infringement, securities fraud, contract breaches, and noncompete violations. His clients have included large medical practices, hospitals, publicly traded utilities, engineering firms, regional real estate brokerages, and securities and commodities traders.

Steve is passionate about small business creation, and he particularly enjoys his work with the creative community, assisting individuals in the arts, music, and culinary sectors, as well as emerging leaders in science and engineering.
