Matthew D. Moghis was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and grew up in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy with a concentration in pre-law studies. In 2011, Matt received his Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans, College of Law. During his time at Loyola, Matt served as a member of the Journal of Public Interest Law, Research Assistant to Professor Shontavia Jackson, and law clerk for the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office.

Prior to joining TWPD in 2016, Matt dedicated himself to general casualty defense litigation in New Orleans for five (5) years. Matt brings his experience and aggressive style to TWPD, with a focus on trucking, commercial transportation and personal automobile liability, as well as premises, products, and construction defect liability cases. Matt has litigated matters in both State and Federal Courts, resulting in numerous favorable outcomes via summary proceedings and trial.

Matt is admitted to practice before all Louisiana State and Federal Courts. He is currently a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Jefferson Bar Association, and Orleans Bar Association. When away from the office, Matt enjoys playing basketball and spending time with his family and friends. Matt is also an avid Saints, Pelicans, and LSU Tigers fan.
